Want to install ceiling chin up bar?
I am a student and am trying to keep it cheap. I bought to 18 inch lengths of chain and fastened to my bar with some nuts and bolts. The plan was to drill into the ceiling studs (unexposed) center and just hang each chain straight down from a 3/4 in. j-hook. this is so when I am done I can just slide the chain off and put away my rig, so only the hooks will be left cause it is in my bed room. I'm 180lbs, I am worried that just 2 j-hooks (one on each stud) is enough to hold me since I cant go into the stud sideways. Or do I need to rig something to disperse the weight? Ideas? I have had trouble finding a similar set up on the web.
