Pencil on Ceramic Tile?

Tile contractors and plumbers left pencil marks on our master shower walls during construction. Have tried: eraser, Greased Lightning, Tilex, Magic Eraser. I'm afraid to do much more for fear of damaging the glaze. Any suggestions?
I've also used GooGone.

Scrub with toothpaste and an old toothbrush. Make sure you use the white kind of toothpaste, not the gel type. White toothpaste contains micro-abrasives that will remove the pencil marks without scratching your glaze. (Unfortunately, the Magic Eraser might have already scratched the glaze. It's very abrasive.)

Wipe down with clean wet rags after scrubbing.

If you can add a little glycerine to the toothpaste it will work even better. You can buy glycerine at most drug stores and health food stores. Just add a drop or two of glycerine. You don't want to use too much or it will actually clean LESS effectively. The toothpaste will work without the glycerine, but the glycerine does add a little extra cleaning power.
