Is it a minnow puppet work for Northland largemouth through the ice thr?
For those of u who do not know, chub Puppet is a two and a half inch long horizontal minnow with hooks on each side and a treble hook on the bottom. I'm in my pond fishing large mouth with 12-20 cm long and I wonder if this lure works. there is no basis, except for structs different bouquets of weeds and Algy. Also what other lures work?
In general, the ball puppet (and Rapala Ice Jigs-less the same thing) are not working well for bass under the ice. Could you take one to use? Of course! But this is not a "decoy percentage" high. When the water gets so cold, Bass tend to go into a "hibernation-like" and will not remove any fodder ..... Of all the times I've been ice fishing, (which are many), I took 2 Bass, (and they were on accident). I suggest you try To Live or head-Shiners. I think you'll have better luck with Bait ... (However, the puppet works well for pike, walleye, perch and Jumbo.) Make sure you check your local laws, if you plan on keeping no Bass. Here in MN Bass are off-limits during this period.
