fishing: what line to put on a penn baitcast?
i have a penn 309 baitcast with a battlin stick 6.6 foot rod. what line weight and type should I put on it? I want it to cast out easier than what i have on it now (cheap 50 pound test mono)..... i want it for catfish, carp, gar in freshwater.

For starters, its a trolling reel, not a casting reel. So its not gonna make any difference what line you put on it, its not going to cast very well. You need to buy a reel made for casting.
