Should i get a baitcasting rod for bass fishing?

I already have two spinning rods

A baitcasting rod is a necessity no questions asked. I find myself using baitcasters 95% of the time. The only time I use a spinning setup is when I absolutely have to. I'll use them on windy days and for lighter tackle. A baitcasting rod will get you more precise casts, they will generally last longer, get in bigger fish, and to me are more comfortable to use.

Normally a spinning rod won't hold any line thicker than 10 pound and do well. When you are throwing bigger baits like spinnerbaits, crankbaits, jigs, swimbaits, etc you need a good 12-14 pound line to handle them. You won't be disappointed if you invest in a nice baitcasting setup or 2. Abu Garcia and Quantum both make very nice baitcasting setups.

Basically there's a time and place for both baitcasting setups and spinning setups. I recommend using a baitcaster whenever possible and a spinning setup when you have to.
